Dear Gazebo Inn Family,

We hope that this letter finds all of you and your families and loved ones safe and well. The year 2020 has been without a doubt the most difficult year that our Country and the world has seen in many decades. We have all seen and experienced things that none of us had ever imagined could or would ever come pass. Our priority through all of this has always been and will remain the safety of our guests, staff, ourselves and our families. For that reason we regret to inform you that we have decided to extend our temporary closure into the month of September.

We have continued to monitor the local COVID cases as well as the cases in the areas that many of our guests visit us from. We have been listening to the reports and advice of the medical experts that are responding to and managing this pandemic. Unfortunately our local cases are still rising, our local hospitals are at capacity or near capacity and are using the National Guard to help staff them, and the loss of life in the Myrtle Beach area sadly continues. The medical experts are still recommending the same preventative practices and social distancing that have been proven to help stop the spread, all of which we found impossible to enforce and safely manage when we tried to operate in June. Our Mayor extended our state of emergency this week for another 30 days, and most if not all major events have been cancelled for the remainder of the 2020 season,

For all of these reasons we feel that we have no choice but to extend our temporary closure into the month of September. Some of you still have plans to join us for the Labor Day weekend, however with the holiday being just three weeks away and our cases still rising we just don’t see that happening. Please know that we do not take this decision lightly and that choosing to remain closed a bit longer has been financially devastating for us all. Because of the highly contagious nature of this virus, we just don’t see any way for us to safely operate the Inn at this time. The City of Myrtle Beach has wisely decided to cancel the remaining major events for the month of September including the Run To The Sun Car Show, Mustang Week, and the CCMF. We know these decisions were not easy decisions for them to make, and that they made them based on the hard data that was provided to them by the experts in the field. We strongly feel that the wise and responsible decision for us at this time is to do the same.

If you have reservations that you have not already cancelled or rescheduled between now and Labor Day, please give us a call or send us an email to discuss your options. We wish that we could give everyone a reopening date, but it's simply impossible to do so at this time. Rest assured that we will continue to do everything in our power to safely reopen and welcome you back to enjoy the beautiful fall and winter months with us at your favorite beach home away from home!

In closing we would like to thank all our loyal guests for their continued support and patience. We promise to keep you updated weekly going forward, and ask that because of our limited staff that you kindly limit your calls and emails regarding your upcoming reservations to a minimum. We would also like to thank all of you that have sent messages of love and support to us over the last several weeks. They mean more to us than you will ever know! Please know that we are keeping all of you and your families in our thoughts and prayers as well, and we are most definitely looking forward to seeing you again at the LITTLE INN THAT COULD once she CAN again! Good Morning Gazebo Friends,

We are very sad to announce that we have had to make the very difficult decision of extending our temporary closure into the month of August. The continued dramatic rise in COVID 19 cases locally as well as regionally has left us no choice but to remain closed at this time.

This is a financially devastating decision for us, however the safety of our guests and staff must and will remain our highest priority. Until we are able to offer what we consider to be a reasonably safe environment for all concerned, we will remain temporarily closed. I can assure all of you that we are doing everything that we possibly can to reopen, but at the end of the day none of us have the ability to stop this global pandemic or “will it away”. All any of us can do is to act responsibly and continue to do our part and encourage everyone else to do the same.

If you have an upcoming reservation for July and you have not already spoken to us, please give us a call at 1-800-833-2294. We are operating on limited hours now so if we do not pick up please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we are able to. We will be happy to reschedule you or issue you a credit for future use.

Hello Gazebo Inn Friends,

 

It is with sincere regret that we announce that THE LITTLE INN THAT COULD simply can’t remain open at this time. We TRIED our best to offer our guests and staff a safe environment to enjoy.  We invested a tremendous amount of money in the best support equipment, commercial cleaning supplies and hand sanitizing stations and training. We even operated at mere 30 percent occupancy in an effort to minimize contact between guests and staff.

 

Sadly all of our efforts were simply not enough as we found a MAJORITY of the guests that we had on property during the month of June absolutely REFUSED to take the mandatory precautionary measures requested such as social distancing, allowing housekeeping to work without contact, using hand sanitizing stations, staying home if sick, or wearing masks while in the inside common areas of the Inn.The reckless actions of the inconsiderate made it impossible for us to offer our wonderful repeat guests and staff a safe place to enjoy. For this reason, we as a family have had to make the financially devastating decision to once again TEMPORARILY CLOSE over concerns related to the COVID 19 virus.

 

We realize that closing will affect some of your summer vacation plans, and for that we apologize. We are absolutely not happy about it either, however we feel that some things just aren’t worth risking over money, and we strongly feel that the health of our wonderful guests and staff are at the top of that list.

 

Our hope is to reopen around the week of July the 19th. We have already reached out to many of you who have reservations with us between now and then. If you haven’t heard from us yet, please give us a call on the reservation line at 1-800-833-2294. If we don’t pick up, please leave a message with your name, date of arrival and phone number and we will return your call as soon as possible. We will be operating with limited staff for limited hours right now, so please be patient as we try to work with each and everyone of you to reschedule, issue credits, or cancel as needed. We have a record of everyone scheduled, so don’t be concerned if you are unable to reach us right away. WE WILL take care of you as soon as we are able.

 

We will be available to you most days between 9 AM and 4 PM to help you reschedule or cancel your early July reservations as well as to reserve your rooms for the rest of the 2020 season. August, September, and October are filling in now and we hope that they will be great months for us all.  Again, it is our hope that we will be able to start welcoming guests back sometime around the week of July the 19th, This date is not set in stone of course. Our decision to reopen will be based on local case numbers at that time. Hopefully the new MANDATORY MASK MANDATE will help flatten the curve as intended, and we will be back to business sooner rather than later!

 

In closing we would like to THANK all of you that stayed with us in June that DID DO YOUR PART to keep yourselves and those around you safe! WE GREATLY APPRECIATE all of you, and we most definitely hope to see you again when things are a bit safer. We hope that all of our very special guests are staying well and safe during these crazy days, and we absolutely are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as you are able to return to your little beach home away from home! By working together, we WILL all get through this! Until then……

                                Welcome to the Gazebo Inn         

The second & third generations of the Perkins family would lilke to welcome you to one of the last family owned and operated hotels in Myrtle Beach.  "Ma Perkins" opened our first hotel here in 1970, and we have been offering low priced family friendly accommodations ever since. The Gazebo Inn is a clean, cozy, quiet, nostolgic  ocean front hotel that is located right on the beach, giving all of our guests a true ocean front vacation experience that is second to none. Our location is also fantastic, and very close to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, Broadway at the Beach, Market Common, Myrtle Beach International Airport, the Myrtle Beach State Park, many fabulous restaurants and great entertainment. We cater to families & couples 21. Singles have to be at least 25 years of age, making for a quiet, family friendly vacation destination. 

If you are looking for fancy linens, large flat screen T.V's, multiple pools, lazy rivers, "free breakfast", shampoo, and room service, we are NOT the place for you.  If you are however looking for the quaint and cozy "basic" nostalgic experience that only a "Mom & Pop" kind of hotel can offer complete with friendly service, clean rooms, and of course the lowest rates in town then the Gazebo Inn should be your next vacation destination.  We pride ourselves in being the best value at the beach, and we do so by cutting out all of the so called "free extras"  that the fancy resorts offer in their much higher priced rooms.  Many of our guests have been staying with us for years, and many of those we are now seeing in second and third generations.  If you are already a repeat guest, we would like to thank you for your loyal patronage.  We could not do all of this without your continued support.  For those of you that are just finding us, we sincerely hope that you will give us a try and see for yourselves why we are still the best kept little secret in Myrtle Beach

Our amenities include free onsite parking (one parking space per room), onsite guest laundry facility, free WIFI, a newly refurbished elevator, interior hallways for your convenience and security, direct ocean front pool and hot tub for your enjoyment, direct beach access, private balconies with rocking chairs on all ocean front rooms, and private balconies on most other room types.  In addition, all of our rooms come equiped with at least a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and hair dryer.  All of our ocean front rooms have irons and ironing boards.  Irons and ironing boards are available for all other rooms that can be signed out from the front desk.  Rooms with kitchenette's are also available.  All of our rooms are NON-SMOKING, however you may smoke on the balcony or in designated outdoor areas. The best part of all is that the Gazebo Inn sits RIGHT ON THE BEACH.  In fact we are "grandfathered in" and sit closer to the water than most ocean front properties are able to do.  You just can't beat our view or the sound of those waves breaking on the sand. 

We are pretty “retro” with our booking process as well. Sorry, NO ONLINE BOOKING here.  So many of our guests have specific requests, etc so we have found that the old fashioned personal touch works best for our little place.  Please give us a call today to talk about your vacation plans. Gazebo Inn Rental Policies:  We will gladly accept personal checks until 21 days dscn4146largeprior to arrival. Cash specials are based upon cash only. South Carolina and city sales tax and fees must be added to all prices. Only one discount may apply per reservation.  We cater to FAMILIES, COUPLES OVER 21, and SINGLES 25 and older.  Reservations made against these policies will not be honored and the advance deposit will be forfeited.  Rates are subject to change without notice. Holiday, special event and weekend rates may be higher. For the courtesy and consideration of other guests requesting reservations, we can only hold a reservation a maximum of 10 days without a deposit. Deposit will be applied toward your  first nights stay. Balance of entire stay is due at check in with no refunds for early departure. In honor of those men and women bravely serving our country at home and abroad, we offer active duty & retired military, police, and firefighters a discount.

gazebo-inn-029LargeRoom details:  All rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and hair dryer. Some guest rooms adjoin if needed. All efficiencies rooms come fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove, toaster, and also include a basic set up of dishes, pots & pans and utensils. Baking dishes and pans are NOT provided.  Please bring these and any other specialty cookware with you if desired.  For your convenience we have a guest coin operated laundry facility on the premises. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.

Our office is not open 24 hours a day. If you are checking in after 9  p.m. please call for special instructions . All of our rooms are NON SMOKING. (smoking is permitted  private balcony or outdoor areas only.)
